Ha...that's right. December has felt that way in any event:-p I ate my way through this weekend.

Starting with Saturday evening, I met up with Sempre Libera, her sister and dad for Christmas dinner at York Grill. I told her next time she needs to pick something a little closer to home...because the walk was deadly:-p ha! Anyway, yes Saturday was the 24th, Christmas eve but in Sempre Libera's neck of the woods Xmas Eve is the big night (I hope I'm right!):) It was a great meal and I felt very fortunate to know people out there care about me....this weekend would have been very lonely. The food was good but the company was even better.

Sunday was official "Laziest person on earth" day. I did not get out of my pajamas until 5pm to go to LD's place for Chinese and movies...which turned into Chinese and watching VH1's top 100 child celebrities:-p It was fun nonetheless and it felt good to just do NOTHING. I can't remember the last time that happened...

Monday, oh yes, the start of step 3 of triathlon training. I took the plunge...yes I went to NYSC and swam. I must admit I was a bit intimidated to get in the pool because me and swimming are pretty much like oil and water. However, this will change. I survived and actually did about 20-25 minutes worth of swimming! Now, by swimming, that does not mean it was a thing of beauty by any means:-p I finished my weekend of culture with Brewmas...which is a combination of a British Christmas and Jewish festivities which includes Hanukkah this year:) Much food was eaten and good times had by all.

Last night was a great culmination of food. Through the wonders of work I was able to eat at Nobu! Not without incident however. Person that made reservations had called the day before to confirm so all was good for 6:30. However, we get there and they say "no reservation for 6:30, it's 9:15." We look at eachother in disbelief, feeling like an episode out of Seinfeld (except a fancy schmancey place, not the Chinese restaurant which happens to be on 37th and 5th for those so inclined to ask). I think it was the best Japanese food I've ever had. So good:) There were 5 of us and we had the following (shared):

  • Baby Spinach Salad with Fresh Fluke Sashimi

  • Fresh Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno

  • Shiromi Usuzukuri (White Fish with Ponzu) (only thing i didn't like)

  • Shrimp and Lobster with Spicy Lemon Sauce

  • Broiled Black Cod with Miso

  • Rock Shrimp Tempura with Ponzu and Chili Pepper or Creamy Spicy Sauce

  • California Rolls

  • Some kind of Eel roll

  • Something with crab (it was good so I'm not complaining)

  • All that washed down with some wine:)

As for Hanukkah gifts, presents, whatever...that was done a few weeks ago with my family. We went and saw Woman in White on Broadway proceeded by lunch at Becco. Although my Hanukkah gift this week: a raise at work! I'll take that thanks;0)
    • congrats on the raise!! well deserved, you worked hard for it!!

btw-i saw you and your teammates tonite!! you guys were going down Cat Hill, and I was going up...trying to chase after 2 guys :-D
      • Thanks...felt good to get a little piece of the pie:0)

As for tonight, yep that had to be us....it's speed night!
