Bonfire those brackets!

Yeah so it's probably just as well I didn't show you my bracket.  Because probably like 99% of the others, it's best fit is for a bonfire at this point! I am ZERO FOR FOUR...that's right...NO FINAL FOUR picks are left.  Zip. Nada.  They don't call it March Madness for nothing.  I left for my afternoon run as the GMU/UCONN game prepared for the final 20 minutes of battle.  I fully expected UCONN to blow GMU out of the water and wanted to come back for the 'Nova game.  Although maybe I didn't want to see that 'Nova game;-)  So kids that's right...gambling is bad!  So I suppose...let's go GMU Patriots!

Weekend was ultra busy.  Yesterday was a marathon of sorts - not the type you're thinking of though!  I woke up for my usual Saturday morning routine - the TRD group run.  However, after that was when the true marathon began.  I met my friend (that's roommate #1 for those of you keeping track at home) for a shopping bonanza.  I hadn't seen her in quite a while - I guess that's what happens when you move away from the vacuum that is Manhattan (wow, when did I turn into a Manhattan snob?).  Anyway, it was a great way to catch up. and more importantly, freshen up the wardrobe.  We battled the crowds at Century 21 and I was able to find some very cute tops and my biggest prize - a fitted black blazer.  We made our way back up to midtown where I was able to find <gasp> a pair of jeans and a black dress.  The day came to a conclusion with getting new makeup...and 6 1/2 hours later I returned to my apartment exhausted.  However, since I was looking good it meant a night out on the town was certainly in order!  See, I am a girl! <ok stop it those of you in the peanut gallery>

However, I got quite perturbed with trying pants on as apparently women are not allowed to be athletes.  The amount of times I tried pants on and couldn't make it work because I have calf and quad muscles.  Ugh.  Apparently, if you are "skinny" you are not allowed to have muscle mass.  I think a new clothing line should be started with sizing for "fit" women.  It's 2006 people...sigh.

I also went down to Trader Joes on Friday!  <advertisement> They have the BEST peanut butter ($1.69!!!) and almond butter in the world!</advertisement>  It wasn't as bad of an experience as I thought.  It took me about 5 minutes to get in the store and while we waited someone came around with free treats to snack on (mmm chocolate covered almonds!).  I was able to get some good stuff there - and maintain my sanity!

And now I am debating about the magical world of getting a haircut.  Sempre Libera got her hair cut at Devachan, which is a hair salon that specializes in curly/wavy hair cutting.  Most of you may not know but my hair definitely has curl - and a mind of its own.  I've yet to figure out a way to control it as many times it decides what it wants to do.  I am now debating on whether or not to take the plunge...the results are breathtaking....just ask those that have gone - or about half of the women on TRD;-)

As for the running, I was able to notch in 27+ miles this week without a long run.  I'm feeling very good about my fitness level at this point considering we are so early in the year.  The plan is to maintain 25-30mpw with the crosstraining for now...and let the results speak for themselves.

And finally I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to AB!  We've got that walking cane ready...j/k;-)
