It's all interesting to me, being a person that is big on being analytical and go by the numbers. People in the US, in general, are not very superstitious when it comes to many things. But how many people do you know that will get married on Friday the 13th or do something of grave importance? How about living at a street address with "666" in it? I admit I have a big event on Thursday the 12th and boy am I glad it is not on Friday!! As a runner, I do run 13.1 quite a bit;0) Odd too, that Friday the 13th falls in the same 7 day period as one of the luckiest days of the century (well for the western world anyway).
For Asia, next year marks a very lucky day. The Olympics in Beijing will begin on 8/8/08 at 8pm. 8 in the Chinese culture is lucky. Personally, I like the 8 thing better. It seems a lot more fluid. That and it has nothing to do with slots:-D Meanwhile, 7 in the Chinese language is considered unlucky and symbolizes death (just like 4 in the Japanese language!).
So, if in doubt, find something to bet on today. Today only happens once a century. Not to burst your bubble, but odds are heavily stacked against you to be around for 7/7/07 in the 22nd century:-p
