A Happy Birthday for me I'd say...

Well today I celebrated my 22nd birthday (22 is a nice double digit number:-D). It was a decent birthday. Usually I'm at school working for rescom but it was nice to finally be at home and celebrate with the family for the first time in 3 yrs. I woke up around 9:30am and was immediately greeted by my mom who wished me a happy birthday, followed by my dad of course:) Before we left for the Phillies game I got the usual call from my grandmom in Florida and my mom mom. Around 11:30 we left for the Vet since we knew there were going to be 55,000 people at the game today since it was bobblehead day and a ceremony for Harry Kalas (of course my birthday too;)). It took almost 2 hours to get there due to lovely I-95 construction and traffic from 55,000 people going to the game+Xgames traffic. Once we got there we met up with my brother at the kicker. I got to see the new Eagles stadium....I must say I'm impressed with the progress made. Plus it looks like they are starting to move along with the Phillies stadium too (opens 2004). Our seats were in section 505 (upper deck, right field). The seats weren't great but my dad had binoculars which was nice. The pregame ceremony was awesome. It was very nostalgic bringing back some of the great phillies players (yeah i know...a short list but there are those guys that made impacts on the few years we actually made the playoffs:)). They had Michael Jack Schmidt there of course...only the BEST 3rd baseman of ALL TIME:-D I got my Richie Ashburn and Harry Kalas bobbleheads so life is good:) The one thing that was not so good was how damn hot it was. I was dripping in sweat for 3 hrs..I like warmth but not gross and sticky weather. I'll be wishing for this when it's -2342343 this winter:-D The game was pretty boring...Rolen was a wuss and didn't play. Boo'd JD Drew as usual. However, in true Philly fashion (didn't agree with this one), the fans boo'd the guy singing "Take me out to the ball game" during the 7th inning stretch. Apparently since it was folk songish people didn't like it. I cheered since I know that takes guts to get up in front of people. The place was sold out today...I couldn't believe it:-o After the 7th inning we left.

For dinner we went to Mamma Palma. It has wood fired gourmet pizza. Soooooooo good. To get there my dad took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in a not so nice part of Philly (west philly). This is a case of look ahead and lock the doors:) It was yummy as usual...as well as air conditioned:)

So here I am at home..still 22. Still weird to think about. The past year has been a good one for me...let's hope for another one eh? I'm starting out in style...Atlantic City tomorrow and NYC on Wednesday. I'll also be busy setting up the cable modem this week too:-D I'm so glad my parents finally broke down for it...ended up being cheaper than 2 phonelines and AOL...not to mention faster. Ended up being 100 for the modem MINUS 140 bucks in rebates. Ahh gotta love it! So that's about it...5 more days at home before going back to school...wow!
